About the Artist

Hi, I’m Kelly Danton, a watercolor artist based in New Orleans, Louisiana—a place full of color, culture, and characters that inspire nearly everything I paint. I specialize in capturing the beauty and personality of Louisiana wildlife, especially the pelicans, raccoons, shrimp, and swamp life that make this region feel like home. My work often blends whimsy and storytelling, inviting viewers into scenes that feel both magical and deeply familiar.

My love for art began in childhood, but watercolor found me later in life—during a season when I needed creativity, joy, and space to express myself. What started as a personal escape quickly grew into a passion for building connection and community through art. I’m fascinated by moody lighting, atmosphere, and emotional storytelling, and many of my pieces feature playful or heartwarming narratives tucked into everyday Louisiana moments.

Whether I’m painting a pelican in a Santa hat or a quiet evening along the bayou, my goal is to create artwork that brings people a sense of warmth, wonder, and belonging. I hope my pieces remind you to slow down, notice the beauty in small things, and smile a little more often.

Thank you for supporting my work and joining me on this creative journey.
I’m so glad you’re here.
